Wyoming Part I

When we saw this we both said, "We are now in Wyoming."  Cattle crossing causing a traffic jam, "WELCOME TO THE COWBOY STATE".  So what if the cowboy is riding an ATV instead of a horse (see right side, mid pic).

Dubois, Wyoming.  I decided I'd make my best effort to recycle things like glass and plastic bottles while on our trip.  I like this photo, because it's the view from the dump where we dropped off our recycling.

Our secret hideaway.
The next few photos are from the Shoshone National Forest.

More snow.  This photo was taken on the first day of sumer.

This is where we took the jeep off roading for the first time.
Ring Lake near Dubois, Wyoming.
Another traffic jam, Wyoming style.

Jack-a-lope.  It's rare to have trophy this size of a jack-a-lope, but they seem to like the high country of Wyoming.  We've personally, only seen the smaller ones in the wild.

Our first glimpse of the Tetons.

Jackson, Wyoming update

Jim and I are having a great time in Jackson.  We have a slow internet connection so no photos yet.  We stopped in Dubois, Wyoming for a fews days before Jackson.  It's quite the cowboy town.  Dubois has a lot of really great back roads.  One could explore for days, which we did.  The Shoshone National Forest is north and West of Dubois.  In addition, there are local parks in every other direction.  This is where the Jeep made her 4 wheeling debut.  She did great and so did Jim as he was maneuvering her in tight quarters.  As I was jostled around, I noted nearby trees that had sacrifice chunks of their trunks to keep vehicles on their path.  Some of these roads gave pot holes new meaning, but Jeeply doesn't have even a scratch (knock on wood).  Some of these roads lead to beautiful meadows; others lead to waterfalls, tiny streams or lakes filled with trout.

We've been in Jackson for a while and really love it here.  Everyday it's one beautiful vista after another.  We haven't fished as the water level is higher than normal.  We did manage to go ATVing, which was a ton of fun.  Also, Jim and I've been hiking up and down Snow King (ski resort) as often as our sea level bodies will allow.  The first time was pretty funny, lots of huffing and puffing.

Today we are getting some errands done before we leave for West Yellowstone tomorrow.

Also, I guess it's pretty common to respond to blog comments in the actual comment section.  So, from now on if you don't receive an email in response to your comments, look back in the comment section.

Thanks for reading.
