Lake Murray is a pretty cool place. The tower you see was an incentive for the Governor to give funds for the development of Lake Murray. It was suppose to be his summer home, but was never completed. They now use it as a learning center with all kinds of specimens from the area (alive and dead). We received confirmation that the spider we saw was most likely a male tarantula. That would be a first for me.The marina in the first photo is enormous with some quite impressive house boats. It was crazy windy when we were poking around as you can see in the picture of me on the tower catwalk.

oooohhh! oklahoma! i hear it's ok in oklahoma. nice rides, by the way.we'll be in taos last week july, first two august. will we see you then? are you picking up any local vernacular? like, "bless her heart..." or "what did vern do with my pickled eggs?" going to the beach today to escape the 94 temp. it's too bloody hot. and remember, don't eat the roadkill unless you killed it. love and hugs, the beasties
