Wow! We're are in Oklahoma already. With the high humidity in the southern states we did our best to get to drier air. The credit goes to Jim who went as long as 5 hours without stopping. For those of you who don't know, Jim used to own a trucking company. Needless to say he's got skills. We had two fairly uneventful overnights. The first in Marianna, FL and then in Byram, MS. Both were out of convenience so, not much too to report.
We are now in Ardmore, OK at a state park. Jim found Lake Murray State Park on a website called rvparkreviews.com that is incredibly useful when it comes to deciding where to stay. We chose Lake Murray for the many outdoor activities and appropriate RV amenities like 50 amp electric, water and pull-through sites with views of the lake. It's really quite serene here. We'll explore today and hopefully post pictures and such.
One of the things that entertains us greatly is spotting wildlife. Jim and I often compete in this area. So far we are pretty even. Most of our sightings have be roadside. This trip alone we've seen turtles, peacocks (yes. along an interstate. one male and a few females.), and a huge black spider crossing the road, big enough to see from the Jeep (I guess Val won't be going to Ardmore anytime soon). Roadkill: a couple dozen armadillos (poor things).
The above picture shows our home and dingy car. Our home is an Allegro Bus manufactured by Tiffins Motors. We bought her new, but its common to have bugs that need to be worked out. So far the jacks have been giving us a little trouble, but everything is still under warranty.
Thank you all for posting comments. It's really a great motivator for me. I had some trouble with my PC card, but it seems that after a call to Verizon it works fine now. This just means that I'll be able to stay connected.
happy blogging,
Jess

Hey friends! Everytime I see an armadillo smashed on the road I am reminded of the Grant Livingston (Florida folk singer) song (thanks Ellen!). I will have to play it for you sometime but meanwhile you can find the lyrics at: http://www.grantlivingston.com/html/lyrics.flarain.html
Glad your travels are dafe and that you are experiencing serenity.
Hugs to you and Jim,
Peggy and Jude
